Consciousness Incarnated

A rather deep connection exists between ones spiritual being and physical being. What drives it? what nourishes it ? what causes the transformation from one form of existence of a will to another? In these realms of spiritual and physical natures. Exists a rather intriguing bond. Can action be independent of ones spiritual condition? Can actions how ever ethically filthy they maybe have an effect on ones spiritual being?. Is physical being unaffected from the rapid changes In the spiritual one? All these questions occupy my mind tonight. What kind of query does it want to solve now? what causes the latest cognitive dissonance ? I wish to explore this subject here.

Before I write about my views we need to establish few grounds for the arguments. what evidences shall be used ?which source acts as superior answer? one thing that’s for sure is that we need to rely on the information provided by the religious authority on this subject. Religion alone has the power to have a say on both physical and spiritual realms of man. How? Why? Because It directly deals with both and therefor the connection present between these two. Thus I have used the references from religious sources for the time being. only relied on two of the biggest ones Islam and christianity and the sources being Quran and Bible. On the secondary level of the argument I have also used hadith and a statement of a scholar.

Surah Qaf (50:16)

"And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than his jugular vein."

The statement what his soul whispers to him indicates a connection between the spiritual realm of a man and his drive to will it into action.

Surah At-Talaq (65:2-3)

"And whoever is conscious of Allah—He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect."

Here the verse focuses on being conscious of god. Again telling us the existence of a condition in the spiritual realm. One may argue here that being conscious of god is a amal of the mind. you observe and think and rationalize a entity who is eternal and creater of this world. To that I say yes. That is true but that amal of the mind is one in a lifetime amal. You may sit once for years to rationalize that conclusion. But to live your life doing that? Is that possible? Can you stay in the constant state of  rationalizing that existence? No you cant.once rationally accepted ,this fact needs to become an eternal part of ones spiritual being. Only then can he stay in constant state of his remembrance.so  Every action voluntary or involuntary is done with the desire to seek his pleasure that is what it means being conscious of god. In my humble opinion.

Luke 17:20-21

"The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."

Within you? How does one explain that? I say its talking about the condition of the soul which develops after being rationally conscious of god. The condition of being content. To always looking forward. Always beyond this life.

2 Corinthians 5:7

"For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Very important statement. It directly relays the command of relying on the spiritual condition to guide you to god not the physical ones.hence once again telling us the existence of both.

Bukhari 52, Muslim 1599

"There is a piece of flesh in the body; if it is sound, the whole body is sound. If it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Truly, it is the heart."

This explicitly tells us that the spiritual condition has adverse affects on ones physical actions and also effects their nature and results.

 Imam Malik

"True spirituality is when knowledge, action, and sincerity meet in a heart that is devoted to Allah."

As shown through all these, there exists the world of spiritual nature which effects ones actions and also in return affected by the actions themselves. It gets corrupted by wrongdoings done impulsively by relying on desires or it corrupts ones actions when not fed properly. What feeds the soul? What nourishes it? To that we say:

Surah Ar-Ra’d (13:28)

"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace."

This is the state of the soul which grows ones will to do good into action. The process of getting this state is a long and a hard one but a possible one. The small scale experiment for this lifelong commitment can be done In the month of Ramadan. The Month to help you live a life of content. A life lived for the things beyond this life. A life lived well. May God Help us all living such a life and help us in our all good endeavors this Ramadan. Ameen
